Admission Criteria Mental Health

Our mental health services can be provided in gender specific units for males and females from the age of 18 who meet the following criteria:

  • adults with severe and enduring mental illness requiring a low secure environment for treatment and rehabilitation (Heatherwood Court)
  • male and female mentally disordered offenders requiring a low secure environment and ongoing treatment and rehabilitation (Heatherwood Court)
  • adults moving from medium secure services to low secure environments requiring continuing treatment (Heatherwood Court)
  • women with personality disorder requiring specialist services including DBT (Heatherwood Court)
  • women with severe or enduring mental illness or PD who require locked rehabilitation (Heatherwood Court)
  • women with mental illness and degenerative neurological conditions or complex physical needs (St Peter's Hospital)
  • men with mental illness and degenerative neurological conditions or complex physical needs (St Peter's Hospital)
  • elderly adults over the age of 65 with dementia, challenging behaviour and/or mental illness (St Peter's Hospital)
