Case Study

Jane’s Case Study

Jane is a forty year old lady with a long history of repeated admissions to psychiatric hospitals and a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder.

Jane has had experienced distressing hallucinations over a twenty year period, and these motivated her serious and frequent suicidal and para suicidal behaviours.

Jane was admitted to one of our secure hospitals in 2008 and has now completed a twelve month Dialectical Behavioural Therapy Programme. Jane made excellent progress and there has been no suicidal behaviour for over six months.

She has greatly improved her quality of life and has achieved her goals of unescorted community leave and overnight stays with her family.

From her initial feelings of hopelessness that nothing would ever change Jane now believes that a life is worth living and is looking to step down to one of our community homes.
