A Christmas Winter Wonderland Experience at Llanbedr Court

15/01/2010

Staff and patients at Llanbedr Court Hospital in Langstone hosted a magical Christmas celebration for friends and family - a doubly special event as it also commemorated the 5th birthday of the hospital, which is run by Ludlow Street Healthcare.

A marquee was erected within the grounds, housing a Christmas market selling a variety of arts and crafts, handmade by the patients.

Entertainment was provided in the form of traditional carols, hymns and Christmas songs, performed by a choir made up of both staff and patients and plenty of festive fare was laid on to enjoy for those feeling a bit peckish.

Family and friends of those living at Llanbedr Court joined the fun and came to show support for relatives taking part.

A low secure unit, Llanbedr Court is set in its own extensive grounds, with a focus on recreational and therapeutic facilities in a thirty-five bed facility, organised into three single gender units, based on clinical need.

Speaking about the hospital's Christmas celebrations, Ludlow Street Healthcare's clinical and business development director, Christine Lovell said:

"The patients at Llanbedr Court worked so hard to make this event a success and I know they thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the festivities.

"It was great to see them making such an effort and I know the staff enjoyed it just as much.

It was also lovely to see friends and family of our patients turn up and lend their support. I'd like to wish them all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!"
