Our Locations
Hudson House
Cardiff 8

Hudson House opened in 2012 in response to the press from our commissioners for services for women and men with severe or enduring mental illness and personality disorder who needed 24 hour social care and support to facilitate their recovery and rehabilitation in a community setting.

At Hudson House our clients have often stepped down from medium secure services and it is a recognition of the stability of the service and skills of the staff that they have been able to make this big transition from medium secure community care.  Other clients have stepped down from low secure or locked rehabilitation services or from the community directly where other placements have broken down.

Hudson House provides a homely atmosphere in a warm and friendly local community.  It is in an exceptionally good location, within easy walking distance of Caerphilly town centre and bus and train stations which give good access to Cardiff and beyond.

The home provide the quintessential ordinary living in an ordinary street.  The service has been successful in preventing revolving door admissions for service users who have historically broken down in their previous placements.  However, the continuity of clinical care that we are able to offer through our own MDT has proved invaluable to some service users with very complex presentations and should they require recall for example for medication review, we are able to ensure any hospital admission is minimal and that they are able to return to community living as soon as possible.

Hudson House has 8 bedrooms in two separate houses, this maintains the homely and intimate atmosphere which is vital for residents who feel lost in larger, more institutionalised environments.  Each house is independent of the other, but clients are encouraged to socialise and share a communal garden.
