For over a decade, we have worked in partnership with the NHS, developing services and investing in the necessary health infrastructure and staff training, to support patients on their journey to recovery and a more independent and fulfilling life, through step-down to community living – improving social integration and inclusion.

Ludlow Street Healthcare believes that all those entrusted to our care are capable of progress and development and that positive change can be achieved for all. We recognise how important quality of life is to a person’s recovery and have created an environment which promotes rehabilitation and community integration.

Experienced in working with people with mental health and learning disabilities, our highly specialised multidisciplinary teams have designed care pathways around government and health authority-recognized Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) approaches alongside our uniquely developed person-centred Building Better Lives (BBL) recovery model.

Our Guiding Principle

We care for people with highly complex needs across all our services and in all our different settings. Wherever they are based and whatever challenges they may be experiencing, our service users lie at the heart of everything we do – and the decisions we make are always driven by what is best for each person in our care.

We always look beyond the presentation to see the person. We take pride in supporting vulnerable people to improve their lives. Helping our service users to meet their goals and live the best life that they can to fulfil their potential beyond their mental health issues or learning disability underpins everything we do.

Our Shared Values

Seclusion

Ludlow Street Healthcare has never supported or used seclusion in any of its services. We take pride in our ability to accommodate the most complex service users in the least restrictive environments by opting to utilize alternative Positive Behaviour Support techniques to prevent and respond to challenging behavior.

Restraint

Ludlow Street Healthcare is committed to never using prone restraint techniques as it considers them dangerous to service users, and as an alternative uses a graded response to any incidents that occur ensuring that all interventions are appropriate and ethical.

We are also very proud to be seen as a leading the way in developing robust restraint review and debrief protocols to minimize the use of unnecessary restraint incidents.

Our Board

To ensure we stay committed to our goals and values, we are able to draw on the experience of our Board, which is intentionally dominated by practicing clinicians, or health or education professionals. This Board make-up and involvement creates a unique ethos throughout every aspect of Ludlow Street Healthcare’s services. With Directors having a daily practitioner role, our Board is directly engaged in the individual provision of care, allowing the organisation to be agile and pro-active when responding to changing patient, service user, and student needs.
