Ludlow Street Healthcare is looking for a Learning & Development Coordinator to work at their Head Office in St Mellons, Cardiff.


The successful candidate will support the Learning and Development Manager in delivering the L&D strategy for the business within agreed timescales. They will be expected to advise and guide staff on a range of learning opportunities whilst demonstrating a calm, professional and friendly approach. they will also take the lead in organising and running some training events and producing accurate reports in support of the L&D department.


Essential skills

  • Minimum L3 qualification in L&D e.g. PTLLs
  • Excellent advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Publisher and Outlook.
  • Proven organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Prior experience of understanding and using databases
  • Mature approach to work and ability to maintain focus under pressure
  • Experience of working a project with minimal supervision
  • Experience of running a busy office
  • Proven experience of dealing with enquiries with a calm approach
  • Ability to design and help develop training events for staff
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Confident IT skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Experience of working on own initiative and as a member of a small team


Desirable skills

  • Good working knowledge of Health and Social Care
  • Experience of addressing a group in a training setting
  • Relevant experience in a similar Learning and Development role
  • Experience of using podcasts/online learning
  • Broad knowledge of L&D good practice
  • Possess and analytical attention for detail and problem solving
  • Ability to deal with sensitive situations in a professional manner
  • Good presentation skills


Job Description

  • Organise and record training events from the bookings stage to evaluation
  • Run training events such as inductions and personal development learning
  • Timetabling and scheduling of multiple staff training events, both class based and online
  • Forward plan and schedule inductions and other mandatory staff training
  • Book trainers forward planning up to a year in advance
  • Maintain the training calendar ensuring accuracy
  • Production of multiple reports using excel and databases
  • Online record keeping
  • Regular liaison with other departments and external stakeholders
  • Action multiple queries from staff
  • Maintain e-learning training records system
  • Maintain L&D recording system using excel
  • Produce training certificates and record through online e-files
  • Prepare the training environment for training events
  • Prepare training materials as requested
  • Liaise with external training providers
  • Take responsibility for all supporting administration required
