The last few months have been unprecedented and have required everyone to make significant changes to their normal working practices whilst coping with the everyday stresses that coronavirus has caused us all. We would like to offer our sincere thanks to our dedicated staff who have worked tirelessly to support our service users during these difficult times.
We would also like to take this opportunity to provide a general update, while service specific updates canĀ be obtained by clicking on the individual service links.
We started our planning many weeks before the UK lockdown was announced and as a consequence had a full Business Continuity Plan in place. We produce daily COVID-19 status reports and these are regularly shared with Public Health Wales, regulators and individual commissioners.
Our Incident Management Team review the daily updates supplied by each of our services which highlight any areas where we feel we could become exposed, for example staff or service users who maybe symptomatic and require testing, allowing us to react quickly to potential issues before they escalate.
At all times we have immediately implemented all updated safety measures required of us by the UK government. This includes: continuous focus on the need to maintain social distancing; implementing enhanced hygiene protocols; daily temperature checking, and ensuring staff have access to and are using the appropriate PPE for every activity.
We would like to reassure everyone that the safety of our service users and staff is, as always, our No.1 priority.
Finally, thank you for all the support we have received, particularly from families, which has helped sustain us through the most difficult moments.
David Lawrence, Chief Executive Officer
