At Heatherwood Court we all believe that recovery is best achieved when everyone is involved in the recovery process.
Heatherwood Court’s Recovery College is an initiative that has been co-produced and co-managed by our service users and our staff, with everyone working together as equal partners to decide what the College should aim to do and how we should do this. The objective of the Recovery College is to help our service users achieve their recovery goals and make a timely, successful transition back into the community.
Through a wide range of educational, therapeutic and clinical courses the Recovery College offers service users the opportunity to:
Learn new skills which will help when they leave us
Understand how to look after themselves and stay healthy
Gain new insights into their own recovery process
Help them to take ownership of their personal recovery journey
Enable them to learn from other services users and share ideas and experiences
By joining in the Recovery College’s activities we hope service users will enjoy learning together and feel empowered to become actively involved in improving their lives and their futures.
We are particularly proud of the SidebySide magazine which service users have co-produced with staff.
A bi-monthly magazine of stories, jokes and activities for everyone’s amusement, click on the magazine image below to read the Summer 2020 edition.
