With two separate flats, each accommodating two people, and one single person flat Westminster Court is ideally set-up to promote independence.
Set in a very pleasant community area on the outskirts of Cardiff with excellent local facilities including libraries, shops, banks, cafes, colleges and leisure centres, Westminster Court promotes community inclusion, citizenship and independence.
Although Westminster Court has its own transport, it also benefits from convenient transport links into Cardiff and beyond.
Like our other learning disability services, Westminster Court is based on the Recovery Model, which promotes the concept of moving beyond the diagnosis of a learning disability.
Working with service users with personality disorders and learning disabilities, the MDT provides support using an adapted DBT model. Staff are also able to assist service users to generalise and maintain other therapeutic skills as well as supporting complex physical and psychological needs.
The single person flat has been specifically created to further develop a service user’s skills and independence prior to their next community transition step.
