Mat James is a Registered Learning Disability nurse with 18 years’ experience and has been a Registered Manager for 15 years of a range of services. He has worked with both adults and children, both in Learning Disability and mental health establishments.
Mat has knowledge and experience in hospital settings and community homes and has been registered with both the Care Inspectorate Wales and also with the Care Quality Commission as a Registered Manager in the past. Mat has also spent several years as a clinical lead and a Responsible Individual.
Mat is fully conversant with the requirements and responsibilities of the Home Manager role under the RISCA regulations
Mat has a reputation as a forward-thinking manager that enjoys leading by example and supporting staff to provide the highest quality care possible.
Mat had worked for the Ludlow Street Healthcare Group for 10 years in the past, including in the role of Registered Manager at Beechwood College, and was delighted to be able to return to the organisation and Beechwood College in early 2019.
When asked what it was like returning to the College, Mat commented “It’s like coming home,” adding “I love the energy and enthusiasm the students at Beechwood have, it’ll be great to experience that again. And it’s a real pleasure to be able to work with the established and dedicated team here – quite a few of whom I recruited myself in the past.”
