The tribunal were impressed with the evidence given by Patient X’s team as to the level of support he receives, and the escorted leave that he is able to enjoy, for example to the local garden centre. Patient X enjoys growing his own plants at St Peter's. The team have also spoken to his adult children with whom he is in regular touch via video calls. It is clear that the treating team are providing the best quality of life that they can for this patient in the circumstances of his condition and detention under Section 3.

"I just wanted to feedback from my recent visit. I witnessed staff being caring and responsive to service users, this care was appropriate and proportionate to the care needs. Staff engaged In good therapeutic interactions, with staff being creative with this. There was clear strong therapeutic rapport between staff and fellow service users. The feedback I received from service users was positive and supportive of their recovery. Sept 2020. I strongly believe that the work that the team do at Caerau is inspiring and recovery-focused. Despite some of the challenges faced, the care team acted in a professional and caring nature towards my service user, encouraging and promoting mental well-being. I'm very much grateful for the care and treatment provided. A personal thanks from me to the team at Caerau Manor."
Commissioner, Clinical lead Complex Recovery Team
I first joined Ludlow Street Healthcare as an Area Manager in 2004. I left LSH in 2010 and returned in 2014, its often said you should never go back but for me it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I can honestly say that I have worked with wonderful people, so committed to doing the right thing for the vulnerable people we look after, it has been wonderful to see and be a part of the LSH team. While I am looking forward to retirement I will miss the service users, the variety of day to day challenges (though I am sure I will have some new ones), but above all my colleagues. Their warmth, kindness and above all their humour that get us all through those difficult days and adds to the best days.

"We are so grateful to you all and appreciate that my brother is not an easy client, but the way he responded to the news yesterday goes to show the management plans, and really friendship from all your staff has made my brother a totally changed person. When I have been able to visit I get a real sense of enjoyment from it, not the feeling of dread i used to get. Thank you so much and please thank your team without you all we would have lost our brother a long time ago."

Thank you to both the Palace Road and Westminster Court teams for supporting my sister during her difficult years as well as through the years where she progressed on her recovery pathway. All the family are really appreciative of what OCS has done for her and we are so happy to see her where she is now in her life.
