I have been a Support Worker at Heatherwood for 7 years and counting. I have been a Senior Support Worker for 2years. The Job can be challenging but the team I work with are amazing. Its so rewarding being a part of someone's recovery, watching them grow and go back into the community with skills you have helped build. Best feeling ever.

Senior Support Worker, Heatherwood Hospital

A very rewarding job it does come with its challenges but with Ludlow's training/induction package you will be skilled up and supported by staff and nurses on shift. I have worked at Saint Peter's for 7 years. I had no prior experience in care, I then developed my career and became a senior support worker and I enjoy my job. I like that there is a Rolling Rota so I can plan my life around my job easily, and I like that Saint Peter's have a person centred care approach and focus on Positive Behavioural Support. Full support of Multi Disciplinary Specialists on site for quick assessments, and no deadlines as we are 24 hour care and we work around the clients, I personally recommend Saint Peter's if you are looking for a career in Care Work.

St Peter’s Hospital, Staff

I worked for this company in both hospital and community setting for almost 10 years, I completed my NVQ 2, 3 and 5 and the training provided throughout is fantastic, I would highly recommend you give their recruitment page a look, if my circumstances were different I would still be there. The tribunal were impressed with the evidence given by Patient X’s team as to the level of support he receives, and the escorted leave that he is able to enjoy, for example to the local garden centre. Patient X enjoys growing his own plants at St Peter's. The team have also spoken to his adult children with whom he is in regular touch via video calls. It is clear that the treating team are providing the best quality of life that they can for this patient in the circumstances of his condition and detention under Section 3.

"I just wanted to feedback from my recent visit. I witnessed staff being caring and responsive to service users, this care was appropriate and proportionate to the care needs. Staff engaged In good therapeutic interactions, with staff being creative with this. There was clear strong therapeutic rapport between staff and fellow service users. The feedback I received from service users was positive and supportive of their recovery. Sept 2020. I strongly believe that the work that the team do at Caerau is inspiring and recovery-focused. Despite some of the challenges faced, the care team acted in a professional and caring nature towards my service user, encouraging and promoting mental well-being. I'm very much grateful for the care and treatment provided. A personal thanks from me to the team at Caerau Manor."

Commissioner, Clinical lead Complex Recovery Team

I first joined Ludlow Street Healthcare as an Area Manager in 2004. I left LSH in 2010 and returned in 2014, its often said you should never go back but for me it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I can honestly say that I have worked with wonderful people, so committed to doing the right thing for the vulnerable people we look after, it has been wonderful to see and be a part of the LSH team. While I am looking forward to retirement I will miss the service users, the variety of day to day challenges (though I am sure I will have some new ones), but above all my colleagues. Their warmth, kindness and above all their humour that get us all through those difficult days and adds to the best days.
